Gotham Knights features a wide range of villains from Batman’s Rogue Gallery. While there are a handful of chaotic villains you will encounter, Mr. Freeze is the most chilling out of them all. You will encounter Victor Fries aka Mr. Freeze during multiple instances. With the death of Batman, Freeze returns to Gotham to cure himself as he wreaks havoc and chaos beforehand. How to Beat Mr. Freeze in Gotham Knights (Tips)
You will encounter Mr. Freeze two times as you progress into the Gotham Knights. Make sure to choose the character that has more skills and abilities unlocked. While you can choose any of the four characters, we suggest choosing Batgirl for this boss fight. Regardless, make sure to equip Cryogenic-resistant gear and ranged weapons for any character.
So, let’s look into both of the boss fights in detail.
Mr. Freeze Boss Fight 1
You will encounter this boss pretty early in the game during Chapter 1.4. The Case file suggests you be at least level 10 to level 13 as you fight him. And you can begin with the first fight as you plug in the Field disruptor on his weather machine. So, here are some tips and strategies to beat Mr. Freeze in Gotham Knights:
- For most of the fight, Freeze would use his gun to shoot the beam blast. That being said, you have to keep on attacking him with ranged weapons.
- If the beam hits you, it can freeze and stun you for a while. So, make sure to keep on sprinting when he fires that around.
- You can also cheese Freeze by sliding underneath his blasted beams and attacking him.
- Rather than cryogenic attacks, attack him with fire attacks as he is weak to those attacks. He can also use a couple of melee attacks but they are pretty easy to dodge.
- Aside from his Cryo Canon gun, he also has several moves up his sleeves.
- Freeze can also cause AoE cryogenic attacks as he slams into the ground with his gun.
- We suggest maintaining a great distance against him. Make sure to stay clear of the frosty honeycomb-shaped AoE attacks on the ground.
- His other AoE attack comprises the icy spikes around his positioning.
- These icy spikes can offer him a shield as you cannot attack him until they disappear. So, you can use the ranged attacks to damage him.
Once you have lowered his health, a cutscene would be triggered which will end the fight.
Mr. Freeze Boss Fight 2 in Gotham Knights
You will encounter him for the second time in the Blackgate Prison during chapter 1.6. This boss fight would be much more challenging than the previous one due to his equipped, Mecha Freeze. So, here are some tips and tricks to defeat him:
- You need to take extra precautionary steps against Freeze due to his mechanical metal machine. With the mecha gear, he can control the area exceptionally better than in the previous fight.
- To avoid his AoE attacks, don’t stand on the indicated red marks on the ground. As you stand on them, his suit can blast several projectiles at once.
- For most of the fight, keep on attacking his mecha legs until they turn yellow. Then, you need to keep shooting them until they turn red to cause additional damage.
- You also fight him close-range but make sure to evade his mecha-legs. Similar to the previous fight, inflicting fire damage will prove effective.
- Once you get a disclaimer to “Grapple Away“, Freeze can inflict a massive AoE attack that can cover the entire arena. So, make sure to not miss the warning as that can defeat you.
- We suggest equipping 10-15 healing packs only when it is necessary. For the whole fight, you need a handful of healing packs to survive.
Upon reaching the fight’s conclusion, a cutscene will be triggered that will end his arc in Gotham Knights.
