In Darkest Dungeon 2, The Librarian boss resides in the Great Library Lair in the Sprawl region. The Sprawl is overrun by a group of pyromaniacs called the Fanatics. You’ll have to navigate through the Sprawl to get to the Great Library. Since the lair is randomly generated, it is easy to get lost in this region. To avoid that, make sure you locate a Watchtower or use a Tracker’s Map.

Darkest Dungeon 2: How to Beat the Librarian
The Librarian will spawn behind three stacks of books in the fourth row. Avoid destroying the books in all circumstances. The best thing you can do to beat the Librarian is to deplete his health before the stacks of books are destroyed and he uses the Ignite mode. Once he is in the Ignite mode, he will use heavy AoE attacks with burning effects. This will obliterate your entire party in a few moves.
Your best bet against the Librarian is the Blight damage. He is resistant to Burn damage so avoid using that. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can interchange the position of the books. So, if the stack close to the Librarian is weak, then interchange it with the strong one to keep him away. Then, use ranged attacks to deplete his health.
