Pokemon Scarlet And Violet: How To Beat Cassiopeia

In every Pokemon game, you will come across a villainous team with evil motives. As you progress through the game, you have to defeat stronger opponents of these teams. In the case of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Team Star is the antagonist group of delinquents you have to overcome. As you progress through the Starfall Street storyline, you will face the leaders of this group. In the end, you will have a showdown against Cassiopeia, the leader of this group. In this article, we will tell you how to beat Cassiopeia in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The identity of Cassiopeia is a major spoiler so don’t read further if you want to avoid it.

How to Beat Cassiopeia in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

After beating all five Team Star Leaders, you will get a call from Cassiopeia to meet at the Academy schoolyard at night. Once you reach there, you will see your old friend Clive at the entrance. We suggest you save the game and heal up your team before approaching him. As you have guessed, you will battle Clive here.

How to Beat Director Clavell (Boss Fight)

After a brief cutscene, Clive will reveal that he was Director Clavell all along. On top of that, he reveals that he is Cassiopeia and you have to defeat him. He has a good team of Pokemon with different elemental types. To make things worse, he has a Pokemon that is stronger than your starter’s type. His last three Pokemon will change depending on your starter choice. Here are the Pokemon he will use against you.

Keep in mind that he will Terrastilize his last Pokemon to its elemental type. So, build a team that has stronger elemental types than these Pokemon and you will be able to beat Cassiopeia. But wait. After defeating Director Clavell he reveals that he isn’t Cassiopeia and wanted to test your skills before facing the real one. Then, he will ask you to go to the schoolyard at night to face and defeat the real Cassiopeia. Make sure you heal your Pokemon before heading there. Once you reach the schoolyard, a small cutscene will start where Penny will be revealed as the real Cassiopeia.

How to Beat Penny (Team Star Leader – Cassiopeia)

Penny’s whole team comprises the Eeveelutions at Levels 62 to 63. Hence, defeating her will be difficult if your Pokemon are at the same level or below. Also, keep in mind the range of her elemental types. That being said, here’s what you should do against each of her Pokemon to defeat Cassiopeia in Scarlet and Violet.

• Umbreon: This is a Dark-type Pokemon with a great Sp. Defense stat. So, using physical attacks will be very effective against it. Your best bet against this one is using Fairy, Bug, or Fighting-type Pokemon.
• Flareon: The Fire-type of her team with an insane Attack stat. Along with that, it has a good Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense stats, so using physical attacks will deal a good amount of damage. You can use Water, Ground, and Rock-type Pokemon against it.
• Vaporeon: This is a Water-type Pokemon with a huge HP bar. Similar to earlier ones, this too has a good Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense stat. So bringing in a Grass or Electric-type physical attacker will assure your victory. Attacks like Thunder Fang and Trop Kick work well against this Pokemon.
• Leafeon: It is a Grass-type Pokemon with a huge Defense stat with good Attack and Speed. So using Sp. Attacks will be very effective against this one. This Pokemon is weak against Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, and Bug-types. Use attacks like Flamethrower and Sludge Bomb to beat it.
• Jolteon: This is an Electric-type Pokemon with a massive Speed stat. It has good Sp. Attack and Special Defense as well. So physical attacks are the way to go. It is weak against Ground-type Pokemon so attacks like Dig and Earthquake might defeat it with a single shot.
• Sylveon: This is the final Pokemon on her team which is a Fairy-type. She will also Terrastillize it so it will be even stronger. It has a huge Sp. Defense with good HP and Sp. Attack. But it is weak against Poison and Steel-type Pokemon. So using physical attacks like Behemoth Blade and Cross Poison will do the trick.

After beating Penny, she will reveal the story of Team Star in a short cutscene. Then you can meet her at the bottom of the School’s Staircase where she will give you the TM 169 Draco Meteor.

Tips to Beat Cassiopeia in Scarlet and Violet

• Level up your Pokemon with Candies before fighting Penny.
• Check out the moves that will work best against Cassiopeia and buy them at the Poke Center to defeat her.
• Buy Battle Items like Quick Claw and Muscle Band and make your Pokemon hold them. This will slightly boost their powers and you can get them at the Delibird Shops.
