What does the Bane Of Arthropods do in Minecraft?

The Bane of Arthropods enchantment affects all mobs in Minecraft that are arthropods. It is hence called the ‘bane’ of arthropods. This includes silverfish, bees, spiders, cave spiders, and ender mites. You can apply this enchantment to your swords. It can also be applied to axes with an anvil too. The enchantment will add an extra 2.5 damage per stage of every hit. This enchantment has 5 different stages. Each stage of the enchantment brings about a damage increase of 1.25 hearts. The anthropods will be slowed down for a period of 1 – 1.5 seconds at the first level.

The anthropods that will be hit with this enchantment will have a Slowness IV added to them for an unspecified period of time. You can use this enchantment to get rid of irritating pests that may appear in and around your house in Minecraft.

This bane will result in nearly 6.25 additional hearts worth of damage to an arthropod when applied to a sword or axe with an anvil. As mentioned earlier, the effect of the anvil is unspecified. It usually depends on the enchantment level of the Bane of Arthropods.

Before you begin to use the Bane of Anthropods, you need to know that this enchantment is not compatible with the Sharpness and Smite enchantments. You can only use one of these three enchantments at a time as the results cannot be piled on one single object.

And that is all you need to know about the Bane of Anthropods enchantment in Minecraft. As you can see, this is a pretty useful enchantment for getting rid of pesky arthropods.
