How to Change your Hairstyle in Animal Crossing New Horizons

You have to visit a salon or a barber to change your hairstyle in real life, but thankfully, that’s not the case in New Horizons. To change your appearance in the game, specifically hairstyle, you need a mirror. There are three ways to get a mirror:

  • It can be a gift from a villager.
  • It can be a present from a gift attached to a floating balloon. You need to use a slingshot for this. Check out how to get a slingshot in ACNH.
  • It can be crafted.

You can craft a mirror using a DIY recipe that you might find in a bottle on the beach. After crafting the mirror, press A and the option to change your appearance (including hairstyles) will open up. With a mirror, you will unlock 6 more hairstyles apart from the original 8 hairstyles and hair colors.

How to Get More Hairstyles

If the default hairstyles don’t tickle your fancy, don’t worry. You can get even more hairstyles! You can unlock them by using Nook Miles and unlocking Nook Miles+. Not sure how to do that? Take a look at our guide to know how to earn Nook Miles.

For Nook Miles+, you have to pay off your vacation fee (5,000 Miles) and change your tent to a house. This will help you unlock Nook Miles+. Once you earn the Nook Miles, redeem them and get more hairstyles and hair colors for yourself! This is how much they cost:

  • Top 8 Pop Hairstyles cost 2,400 Nook Miles
  • Top 8 Cool Hairstyles cost 2,400 Nook Miles
  • Top 8 Stylish Hair Colors cost 3,000 Nook Miles

That’s quite pricey so make sure to have a lot of Nook Miles with you. Unlocking Nook Miles+ is crucial in this case because that’s how you will get daily challenges. Completing them will give you Nook Miles as bonuses.

This is all you need to know about all hairstyles in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Keep reading more such guides in our Animal Crossing New Horizons Wiki.
