You might have got several companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 to help you around while exploring the game. However, do you know that you can also have a pup as your companion in the game? Yes, you read it right. You can adopt a pup in Baldur’s Gae 3 and have him alongside you in your camp. If you are wondering how to do that, this guide is just for that purpose. Today, we will discuss how you can easily adopt a pup in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Adopt a Pup
You will meet the pup at the northeast side of the Blighted Village. From here, you can adopt the pup and add him to your roster. He will be standing aside a dead man, who might have been his owner before you found him. Here’s how you can adopt the pup.
You will have to use the Potion of Animal Speaking to be able to interact with the pup. While interacting, you will have two options. You can either try to make the pup believe that he is dead or you can just forcefully prove that. If you try the forced way, the pup will start attacking you. You would have no choice left but to kill the pup. Hence, make sure to choose the other option of talking if you want to adopt the pup.
While interacting, you have to ask the pup to join you. To this, the pup will say no as he doesn’t want to leave his master. You can then tell the pup that if his master doesn’t wake up, then the pup can follow your scent and meet you. This will help build the pup’s trust in you so that you can then adopt him in Baldur’s Gate 3. The pup will say thank you and then you can leave the place.
After a couple or three days, the pup will come to your camp. That’s all you need to do. Just follow the steps and the pup will be yours.
That’s how you can adopt a pup in Baldur’s Gate 3. Apart from just a pup, you can also tame an Owlbear in the game.
