Overwatch (OW) 2: Achievements Bugged Issue (Explained)

Updated Date :

With the launch of Overwatch 2 comes a plethora of swarming bugs and issues with it. While the release of the anticipated sequel is not going as smoothly, some Xbox players are having it worse. These players are getting kicked out of the title screen for earning an achievement in OW 2. As players get kicked out, they must wait in an endless queue to join the game again. Don’t worry; here’s everything you need to know about the Achievements Bugged issue in Overwatch 2.

Achievements Bugged in Overwatch 2 – Getting Kicked Out? (Explained)

Several players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S are getting kicked out for achieving an Achievement. As soon as they are notified, they are disconnected from the match and directed to the main title screen. Then, players need to wait in the queue again to join a match.

While the stakes are pretty low with Casual modes like Quick Play and Arcade, they are pretty high with Competitive ranked matches. That’s because you can get a ban for disconnecting from the competitive game in OW 2. Quite an unfair punishment! It does not work out for the players wondering if they can resolve this issue by turning off the achievement notifications. Regardless, Overwatch 2 disconnects and kicks players out of the matches when they get an Achievement.

So, the only valid workaround to fix this issue would be to avoid achieving Achievements intentionally. It also implies not playing too well during the matches. This might annoy your teammates, but at least you get to play. Also, the newcomers that haven’t played the previous installment need to win 50 quick-play matches to unlock competitive ranked mode. This could be a great way to grind until Blizzard releases a patch to fix this issue.

While there is no word from Blizzard yet, we hope they acknowledge and resolve this issue. We can wait and hope Blizzard resolves this issue in the upcoming server maintenance or updates.
