If you look south to the floor plate, there will be stairs. These stairs will be leading up to the rocks.
When you climb the stairs and go to the rocks, they will be carved. Simply interact with the button on the screen to read the carvings. When you turn back and look down after reading the carvings, you will find a well instead of the circular floor plate.
