99 Nights in the Forest has a lot of classes and the developers add more as time goes by, however, not all classes are created equal. In this guide, I have a tier list that ranks the classes from S to D tier that can help players decide which class to play as. While this list is subjective and may differ from various opinions, the general information has been collected from current community discussions as well as gameplay experience from multiple players. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it.

99 Nights in the Forest Class Tier List
Classes are ranked based on the factors of combat strength, survivability, solo value, and late-game reliability.
S-Tier – Best Classes Overall
Cyborg
- This class is great due to strong weapon efficiency and perks. Great for solo players who want reliable damage throughout the run.
Big Game Hunter
- Top-tier damage dealer with excellent bonuses for hunting and fighting tougher enemies. Great for farming resources and dealing with boss encounters.
Necromancer / Vampire
- These classes thrive in aggressive combat. Minion support or life-steal creates strong survivability and pressure on enemies during tough nights.
A-Tier – Strong and Versatile
Assassin
- This class provides high mobility and burst damage. Great for players who like to head out solo for hit-and-run tactics or scouting ahead.
Beastmaster / Hunter
- Animal-focused abilities give great support and extra damage. Useful both solo and in teams.
Cook / Chef
- Strong support class that improves food production and survivability, especially valuable in co-op runs.
Lumberjack
- One of the best early-game classes because of fast wood gathering. Helps build defenses and progress quickly in the first several nights.
Pyromaniac / Poison Master
- Damage-over-time classes that excel when fights last longer. They require careful play and positioning to make full use of their abilities.
B-Tier – Good in the Right Situations and Right Hands
Alien
- This class can be powerful due to its night visibility; however, it does have its cons with the speed debuff every time the weapon overheats.
Blacksmith / Base Defender
- Their value is best used in teams due to their crafting or construction perks. Less effective for players who play mostly solo.
Medic
- Great in co-op for reviving and healing, but underpowered in solo runs because it lacks strong offensive tools.
C-Tier – Specific Usage
Scavenger / Camper / Decorator
- Convenience-oriented classes that offer better loot, easier setup, or fun perks. They help early, but they don’t scale well into late nights.
D Tier
Default
- No starter tools or buffs to help with the journey.
Hopefully, this helped you decide which class needs to be unlocked next! If you’d also like to know the latest 99 Nights codes, how to get the Strong Axe, Chainsaw, Vampire Cloak and also some information on the Delta Executor, check out our linked guides.
