The other, more labor intensive method is to craft your own Rainbow Feather. You can do this by catching the colored feathers which are a bit more common than the Rainbow ones. With the help of the recipe that Pave gives you, you can go about making your own Rainbow feather. Some Villagers are also willing to trade Feathers for another color. So if you have a surplus of a particular color you can trade with them.
Now comes the easiest part. You can trade either the Single-colored feathers with Pave or opt to trade the Rainbow ones. If you trade 3 single color feathers, you will get a furniture item of that color. A rainbow feather will get you a rainbow colored furniture item.
