But as the developer, Concerned Ape, confirmed taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier, we speculate the 1.6 update will come out by late 2023 or early 2024. Earlier, the developer confirmed that update 1.6 won’t be as massive as update 1.5. As the update will be mod-focussed, this update will make it easier and more powerful to a mod. You can expect some new content but it won’t be as grand as the update 1.5.
Teasing the new content for the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, the developer most recently shared a list of features we can expect as a tweet. They are as follows:

As players have been waiting for a long time for some clarity, this offers plenty of new content details about the upcoming Stardew Valley update. But uncovering the question marks at the end of the tweet, many fans speculated that the update might add AI NPCs into the game. With other players hoping for new soundtracks, new horses, or a Porple Scythe. But in my opinion, we might not be getting massive new game content as update 1.5.
Although it isn’t the first time, the developer has offered a sneak peek at the upcoming update. Some time ago, the developer posted a tweet with only two words, “iridium scythe“. As speculated by many players around the Stardew community, it can be an upgrade for the tool. However, the developer hasn’t confirmed anything about it as of yet.
Considering the developer is also working on Haunted Chocolatier, the developer was asked some questions regarding both games earlier. Back then, he stated that there is “no target release date, just when it’s ready“. This was before the update 1.5 port for mobile devices. Answering more questions, the developer shared the connection between Haunted Chocolatier and Stardew Valley on Twitter. While you can expect some Stardew references in the upcoming game, the developer hadn’t decided how deep the connection will be exactly during that time.
