Zonaite is an important material that players can collect in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As the name suggests, it is used to obtain several types of Zonai Devices like a Flame Emitter through a Device Dispenser. Moreover, Zonaite is also used for upgrading the Energy Cell & increasing the life of the devices. Players who are new to this game may get confused about this item. To help you out, here’s how you can get and process Zonaite to get other materials.
While in the Mining Cave area on the Great Sky Island, you get to know about the Zonaite for the first time. However, as soon as the game progresses, you can farm it in several other locations. Here’s where you can find Zonaite.
How to Get Zonaite in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Zonaite pieces are found in abundance in the Depths, an underground area in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. For those who don’t know, Zonaite looks like deposits of rock with green sparkle on it. There is no fixed location where you can find it but Depths is the region where you can find it quickly and easily.
Once you have found a Zonaite deposit, you need must hit it with a stony weapon to break it. If you don’t have a stony weapon, then you can use the Fuse Ability to create one. You get at least 3 pieces of Zonaite after breaking a Zonaite deposit in Tears of the Kingdom.
Also, keep in mind that if you defeat monsters in the Depths, they will drop Zonaite as a reward. If you are lucky enough, you can also find Large Zonaite down there in the Depths.
How to Process Zonaite in Zelda TOTK
In Tears of the Kingdom, Zonaites are used to acquire items like Zonai Charge and Crystalized Charge. So to use it, you need to find and enter a Forge Construct. The very first Forge Construct that you come across is also in the Mining Cave area on the Great Sky Island. To reach there, you must Fast Travel to the Nachoyah Shrine (0388, -1660, 2299).
From there, the Mining Cave is comparatively closer. You can then trade the Zonaite in exchange for a Zonai Charge or Crystalized Charge in Tears of the Kingdom. Just keep in mind that 1 Crystalized Charge is worth 3 pieces of Zonaite. And if you have a Large Zonaite, then you can get a Large Crystalized Charge in return.
Zonai Charges are used to power up and obtain Zonai Devices from the Device Dispenser. Whereas, the Crystalized Charge is used to get more Energy Cells.
