Updated Date :

PewDiePie one of the biggest YouTubers just got banned on Twitch. Even though he doesn’t usually stream on Twitch, his channel on the platform had been active for more than a month. And the most interesting thing here is he wasn’t even actually streaming anything, but rather his channel had his older videos play on an infinite loop. But something went awry and got him banned. So here is everything you should know about this incident.

Why Did Twitch Ban PewDiePie’s Channel?

reasons why PewDiePie's channel is banned on Twitch

PewDiePie who is originally a content creator on YouTube got his Twitch channel banned on May 9th, 2023. There have been multiple speculations about it from his channel getting hacked, him breaking Twitch’s guidelines, to the infamous Bridge situation, fans have been trying to figure out what went wrong. Though he had streamed on Twitch in the past it wasn’t till 21st March when his channel became active on Twitch again. Here is what has been happening:

Upon being active again on 21st March, his channel started streaming episodes of Trailer Park Boys. This led the community to believe he was hacked. But it turned out that this was done by CoPilot Media. This was supposed to be a test VOD before they started looping old videos from his channel. They then ran on a loop for more than a month, but suddenly the channel got banned on 9th May 2023.

Here is where the speculations begin. Many believe that the ban is due to him using the n-word while playing PUBG in 2017. Others also believe that it could be due to his streams breaking the Promotions guidelines in the Terms of Service. And finally, there is also the belief that he was banned simply due to people mass reporting him.

Going on his channel, it currently says “This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”. But Twitch hasn’t given the exact reason for his ban just yet. PewDiePie also hasn’t responded about it at the time of writing this article.

That’s everything you must know about PewDiePie’s latest Twitch ban. If you want to know more about him then you should also check out his current Net Worth.
