Absolute Explained in BG3 – What is it?

I suppose many of you may have already guessed it. Anyways, Absolute is nothing but an Elder Brain in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3). Many characters are succumbed to mind control and all of them worship the Absolute. Hold up, there’s a plot twist! The Elder Brain (or Absolute) is held against its will by the Dead Three. For those who don’t know, the Dead Three is a Trio of Deities that includes – Bane, the Lord of Darkness; Bhaal, the Lord of Murder; and Myrkul, the Lord of Bones.

BG3 the Absolute

The fact that the Elder Brain is the Absolute is revealed toward the end of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3). This will happen after you defeat Ketheric Thorm, the chosen one of Mykrul. Just like Mykrul, Bane and Bhaal also have their chosen ones who are Lord Enver Gortash and Orin The Red. Each 3 of these chosen ones has possession of a stone that when brought together acts as a controlling device for the Absolute. This explains how the Dead Three were able to dominate the Elder Brain against its will.

Surprisingly, in one of the endings of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3), you can become the Absolute yourself. However, you will have to defeat Thorm, Gortash, & Orin and take away their stones. After that, you’ll be able to use those stones and dominate the Elder Brain to become the Absolute yourself. The idea of all this may still seem blurry to you. But trust me, you will begin to connect the dots once you reach the end.
