Are you looking for a way to find Corrupted Mods in Warframe? Here is a detailed guide that will help you. Corrupted Mods are special mods in Warframe that can be unlocked from Orokin Derelict. Loot hidden Vaults located in different missions will give you Warframe Corrupted Mods. Sometimes it will be difficult to find these vaults, also the guide will give explain to you in detail what is Warframe Corrupted Mods, what corrupted mods do, and tricks to get them easily in the game. Let’s begin.
What is Warframe Corrupted Mod?
Corrupted Mods gives you additional benefits in Warframe. They can amplify your weapons or Warfrrame’s stats. There is a price for this, the mod will cause one negative effect or 2 positive effects depending on your build.
Corrupted Mods works both for Warframe and Weapons, you can customize them using the mods and craft a unique build. Warframe Corrupted Mods are available for Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons. In simpler words Warframe Corrupted Mods are dual stats mods, they carry one positive and one negative stat. Added in Update 1.03 with Orokin Derelict and Dragon Keys, Corrupted mods are hidden inside the Vaults.
A smart combination of the corrupted mod will make you highly powerful. For example, you can get a +90% Power Range at Max Rank if you are using Overextended Corrupted Mod. The same goes to Blind Corrupted Mod, it offers +90% more strength at the max rank at the cost of reducing your power efficiency by 55%.
There are a total of 23 Corrupted Mods in Warframe. Another update has added an equal chance of dropping all mods in the game. Below you can checklist of all 23 Warframe Corrupted Mods and their power. But before here is a tip on how to get Corrupted Mode in Warframe.
Warframe – How to get Corrupted Mods?
Create a Squad of 4 and check if everyone is having a different key to the vault. It has to be random, go to Derelict, and play a Vault Mission. You are free to choose between extermination or capture. Just pick a mission and find a door in the mission. Once you find one, ask every Squad Member to try his key.
If you can unlock the door you will get a Corrupted Mod. Dragon keys are required to unlock Orikin Derelict. It randomly spawn in a sealed room. You can buy or build a key and then add it in the consumable slot. The key can have modifier that can affect your game so build a Warframe that can manage the effects.
Playing with a Squad of 4, each carrying a different key increases the chances of unlocking the room and getting a corrupted mod.
Warframe – What are Dragon Keys
There are four different Dragon Keys in Warframe, each comes with a modifier that can affect your stats. You can buy blueprints for all four keys using credits and craft them in the Foundry. Crafting keys will cost credit plus a regular Void Key form any mission. You can carry only one key in your gear slot, that is why you need a team of 4 players each with a unique key to increase your chances of getting corrupted mod in Warframe. If you play solo you have a 25% chance to get a Warframe Corrupted Mod, and if you are in a team so your chances amplify.
Here are the list of all four Dragon Keys and their effects:
- Decaying Dragon Key: Decreases Shields by 75%
- Extinguished Dragon Key: Decreases Damage by 75%
- Bleeding Dragon Key: Decreases Health by 75 %
- Hobbled Dragon Key: Decreases Movement Speed by 50%
Hobbled is the worst one, it will slow you down and you cannot deflect its effect. If you are carrying Hobbled Dragon key then try jumping a lot, do wall run, slide, sprint, etc. this will help you to manage your speed. If playing solo with Hobbled Dragon Key then it is recommended to build a fast frame.
Warframe – What is a Derelict Mission?
Derelict Mission is a sealed mission that can be unlocked by crafting a key with common materials. A key blueprint is found in the market. Go to Gear and go to the keys section. You can buy it against credits. Remember Vaults are in every Derelict Mission, and these Vaults have corrupted mods. But two kinds of the mission will not help you in getting these mods, they are Orokin Derelict Defense & Orokin Derelict Assassinate.
Even if you want to play Orokin Derelict Defense & Orokin Derelict Assassinate then here are the benefits of playing these missions. They will not have vaults.
- Orokin Derelict Defense – Good for Farming Affinity (ESP) & Nano Spores.
- Orokin Derelict Assassinate – Unlock Nekros Warframe by killing Lephantis.
Warframe – How to identify or find a Derelict Vault?
If you are finding it hard to locate Derelict Vault in Warframe then here is a tip for you. You might come across a Vault Door and ignore it. But there is a trick, on your screen on the right corner you will see a Red Icon. These icons will match the symbol in the center of the door.
Every Dragon key has a different symbol and displayed at the top right corner of the screen. If the symbol matches the vault door it means you can unlock it because the Dragon key you have is correct.
Inside the vault collect the glowing artifact to receive the corrupted mod. It will be rewarded to everyone if you are playing in a Squad. Collecting the artifact you will be getting another Dragon Key debuff, be ready to fight. During the Exterminate Mission is best to clear the infestation before you open the vault. This will prevent them from transforming into corrupted enemies.
Inside the vault collect the glowing orb, you will be debuff again and second dragon key effect. If you are carrying damage Extinguished Dragon Key with -75 Damage, it is best to go with a healer warframe. But you can experiment more and try to cancel or reduce the effects on your build.
