Making a Wood stack in Valheim is the most appropriate way to store wood in an early game. They cost you no space, unlike storing them inside the house or inside chests. You can keep your wood stack in the open ground around your base and retrieve wood from it whenever you want. You also don’t have to carry them around always with you causing you to be encumbered (slowing you down and also prevents you from regaining your stamina), nor waste your precious chests to hold them. So today let us understand everything about Valheim Wood Stack and Wood Pile.
How to a Make Wood Pile Using Wood Stack Option in Valheim?
To create a Wood Stack in Valheim, you need to equip Hammer, right-click and select Wood Stack from the Misc tab. You need at least 50 pieces of wood to make one stack. Also, note that all wood in this pile will take damage and eventually get destroyed when left in rain. You can either build a roof over them or, simply repair them when you are near.
This is both aesthetically and functionally the most convenient way to keep wood. This method is very helpful during the initial phases of the game where you will need lots of wood to craft items and build a home, but you won’t be having enough ways to store all this wood. The wood stack only allows you to remove the entire stack (whole 50 pieces of wood) from the pile. You can’t remove lower wood stacks or split the item in this wood pile. Even though chests take fewer tiles in-game, you can save resources to build those chests by following this method.
How to Collect Wood Back From Wood Stack?
To collect wood from the wood stack, you need to hold Hammer in your hand and use LMB to destroy the woodpile. Just like chopping a tree or collecting items from other placeable objects in Valheim, you can collect all your woods from the Wood Stack.
