If you have just started playing Valheim then you must be wondering how to start building the game. Making your work a lot easier, we have curated a guide explaining how to unlock building recipe and start building in Valheim.

Valheim: How To Build & Unlock Building Recipes

To start building in Valheim, you need to have enough materials to build a basic building material, Hammer. For the unversed, Hammer can be crafted by some Wood or Stone. To get Wood, you will have to cut trees by using Axe.

Once you have accumulated all the required materials, craft a Hammer and put it onto your Hotbar and equip it. Once equipped, an option that reads ‘Build Menu’ appearing in the right corner of the screen. When you Right-Click on the ‘Build Menu’ option, it will show you all the building option that you have unlocked so far.

The first thing you should start building is a Workbench, which will have you unlocked multiple building recipes for yourself. You can use Workbench to build multiple types of building items such as roof, door, ladders, and fences.

Apart from using Hammer as a primary weapon, you can use it as a repair tool when the structure you have constructed needs to be repaired. Since all of the constructed items decay with times, make sure to check them frequently.
