MW2 Polyatomic & Orion Camo: How To Unlock Them

Updated Date :

The recent launch of COD Modern Warfare 2 features a plethora of new content for the players. This includes unique mechanics, maps, weapons, and a wide range of weapon camos. Speaking of the Mastery camos, they are the rare and unique weapon cosmetics or skins in COD. Similar to previous installments, MW2 also offers players plenty of camos for completing different challenges. But with some refined changes, several players are confused about unlocking and getting these weapon cosmetics. Not to worry, check out our guide on how to unlock Polyatomic, Orion Camo, and other Mastery camos in COD Modern Warfare 2.

How to Unlock Polyatomic & Orion Camo in MW2

You can unlock these weapon camos by completing all the camo challenges and camos for weapons in MW2. Unlike the Base camos, Polyatomic and Orion weapon camos are a type of Mastery camos. Before you unlock these types of camo designs, you need to complete several challenges and unlock different weapon camos.

There are mainly four Mastery camos and they are as follows:

  • Gold Camos
  • Platinum Camos
  • Polyatomic Camos
  • Orion Camos

Let’s look into each of these camos and how to unlock them in Modern Warfare 2:

Gold Camos

Before you unlock the Gold camo, you need to complete all the Base camo challenges. These challenges involve getting a set number of kills. There are over four Base camo challenges that you can complete. Once you complete all the Base camo challenges, you will unlock the Gold Camo challenges. Then, all you need to do is grind and complete these challenges to unlock the Gold Camos. These challenges require getting a specific number of kills without dying more than a certain number of times. If you are confused about unlocking this type of weapon camo, you can check out our guide on how to unlock Gold Camo.

Platinum Camos

Similar to the previous weapon camo, you need to complete some Gold camo challenges to unlock the Platinum camos. To unlock them, you need to unlock Gold camos on a minimum number of weapons in each category. As we know, there are 9 different weapon categories and they are as follows:

  • LMGs
  • SMGs
  • Sidearms
  • Launchers
  • Primary & Secondary Melee Weapons
  • Sniper Rifles
  • Assault Rifles
  • Battle Rifles
  • Marksman Rifles

If you are unable to get the Platinum Camos, check out our guide on how to unlock the Platinum Camos for more insight.

How to Get Polyatomic Camo

Polyatomic camos can be unlocked once you unlock the Platinum mastery camo for all 51 weapons. But the twist here is that its camo challenges would be different for all the weapons. That means the camo challenge for RPG-7 might differ from the camo challenges for M4.

Unlock Orion Camo in COD MW2

As you unlock the Polyatomic camos for these weapons, you will automatically unlock Orion camos for them. But for that, you need to unlock the Polyatomic mastery Camo for 51 different weapons. So, this might require some heavy grinding. And while it can be a bit time-consuming, it would automatically unlock the Orion Camo on all the weapons. This type of weapon camos marks the completion of all the Mastery camos in Modern Warfare 2.
