    In Hogwarts Legacy, you can upgrade your gear and apply traits to get certain boosts and perks. These perks will help you survive against other wizards and magical creatures during combat. As you progress through the game, you will take on harder missions. To make sure you survive those missions, it’s crucial you have the right gear. To help you, this guide will tell you how to modify and improve your gear.

    What are Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

    All Hogwarts Legacy Traits

    Traits allow you to add certain perks and bonuses to your gear. This includes extra defense against certain hostiles in the game or an attack buff. Here’s a list of all traits in Hogwarts Legacy:

    List of Defensive Traits

    • Amphibial Protection I: Decreased damage is taken from Dugbogs
    • Amphibial Protection II: Greatly decreased damage taken from Dugbogs
    • Amphibial Protection III: Significantly decreased damage taken from Dugbogs
    • Anti-Venom I: Decreased damage taken from spiders
    • Anti-Venom II: Greatly decreased damage taken from spiders
    • Anti-Venom III: Significantly decreased damage taken from spiders.
    • Cushioning I: Decreased damage taken from trolls
    • Cushioning II: Greatly decreased damage taken from trolls
    • Cushioning III: Significantly decreased damage taken from trolls
    • Goblin-Silver Resistance I: Decreased damage is taken from goblins.
    • Goblin-Silver Resistance II: Greatly decreased damage taken from goblins.

    The number next to the buff indicates that you can further upgrade them to be more effective.

    How Can You Upgrade Your Gear with Traits

    Upgrade Gear by using the Loom

    Since Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG, you get to improve your character’s stats with the help of clothing. But first, you’ll have to unlock the Room of Requirement. Here, you will find many options regarding your gear in the game. To upgrade your Gear, head over to the Room of Requirement and find the Loom. Using the Loom, you can level up your gear as well as apply new traits to them.

    There are many ways to obtain new gear. It can be in the form of side quests or the main storyline. Some gear will come with unknown traits. To identify them, you can use the Identifying Station in the Room of Requirement. As of now, there are two achievements regarding gear, and more will be added further on. Here are the revealed achievements:

    • Loom for Improvement
      • Upgrade a piece of gear
    • Third Time’s a Charm
      • Upgrade a piece of gear 3 times
