Learning to trade Pokemon can be very important in Pokemon Legends Arceus. This game heavily focuses on completing your Pokedex at least based on the trailers. And even aside from that, trading is an important and essential experience in any Pokemon game. So in this guide let us take a look at how to trade Pokemon & Items in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
How to Trade in Pokemon Legends Arceus
Jubilife Village has a trading post that should let you trade Pokemon with other players in Legends Arceus. This information is confirmed on the Official Pokemon Legends Arceus page. It also says that you will need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to enjoy some features. So based on the previous Pokemon games this should be the way to trade.
- Go to the Trading Post in Jubilife Village.
- There should be separate sections or Rooms for you to trade your Pokemon.
- These will be separate based on whether you wish to trade your Pokemon locally or globally.
- Once you are in the local or global trade room you should find other players to trade with.
- Select the Pokemon you wish to trade and transfer the Pokemon, you should simultaneously receive a Pokemon.
When you follow the above steps you should easily be able to trade Pokemon. Remember, these steps are based on how you trade pokemon in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl and older Pokemon games. We will update this guide with the exact steps once the game releases. You can also trade items by making your Pokemon hold the item and then trading it. This is also based on how trading items worked in Pokemon BDSP.
Why should you trade Pokemon?
The biggest reason for trading Pokemon in any Pokemon game is to complete your Pokedex. That makes trading even more important in this game, as this game is supposed to be the chronologically first game, where you make the Pokedex. Another important reason to trade is to evolve Pokemon. There are some Pokemon that only evolve after trading. Some of these Pokemon are Kadabra, Machoke, Haunter, Magmar, and more. And lastly, you can trade to get stronger Pokemon.
It will be very interesting to see how the trade feature plays out in Legends Arceus. The reason for this is because previous Pokemon games were released in pairs e.g. Sword and Shield, Sun and Moon, and more. Those games had exclusive Pokemon that you could trade with the other players to fill up your Pokedex. But Since Legends Arceus will release alone, we are yet to see how handy trading comes for players.
