Tighnari is a Dendro character in Genshin Impact that is loved by players across the world but there’s some news related to the voice actor Elliot Gindi. Plus, we also have an update regarding the new VA for Tighnari.
New Tighnari Voice Actor in Genshin Impact
In a blog post by Hoyoverse, they have mentioned ‘After Version 3.6 is updated, the character “Verdant Strider” Tighnari (Dendro)’s VA will be updated.’ But dataminers have already found out who it could be and it’s all pointing towards Zachary Gordon. Check out the Tweet below with the voice-acting snippet. Zachary Gordon has worked on Kindom Hearts III, Mafia: Definitive Edition and many TV shows and films. It will be interesting to see how he breathes new life into the character.

Why is Tighnari Voice Actor being changed in Genshin Impact?
Hoyoverse, via their official @genshinimpact Twitter account has confirmed on Feb 16, 2023 that they are replacing Elliot Gindi as the English voice actor for Tighnari due to a breach of contract. Due to this, players will eventually see a completely new voice artist reprising this role, but it will be done after a phase of re-recording. The change in the voice lines will be addressed by the developers in announcements, whenever the casting and other updates are done.
Here’s the full statement:
Dear Travelers,
After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract.
At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari’s existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!
As soon as the information spread among the massive Genshin community, most players demanded that he be removed. And now, fans are appreciating Hoyoverse for your swift action and urgent solution.
Elliot Gindi has admitted to se*ual misconduct with fans (the allegations can be read in this tweet – some words can be triggering). Due to these events coming to light with evidence, he has apologized in a tweet.
Because of the nature of the content, we are not mentioning the distressing details here. If you wish to read more, you can check out the details at Kotaku. When they asked Hoyoverse to respond to whether Gindi will be removed from voice acting Tighnari, this was the response:
“We deeply regret the harm and damage that happened to our fans, gamers, community, and anyone affected,” wrote a company representative. “Both our internal teams and external partners including our voice acting studio have been working together on an urgent solution. And we will keep you posted on the progress.”
