How To Throw The Oddball (Skull) In Halo Infinite

Updated Date :

Halo Infinite multiplayer has been rocking the Steam charts ever since it was released. Among the different types of game modes that you can have in this title, there’s Oddball. This is where you have to keep a ‘ball’ (i.e. a skull) with you without letting the other team gain control of it. The longer you hold, the more points you score. Today, let’s take a look at how to throw the Oddball in Halo Infinite.

How to Throw or Drop the Oddball in Halo Infinite?

If you want to throw the Oddball in Halo Infinite, all you have to do is change your weapon. PC players can use the mouse scroll wheel and Xbox controller users can press the Y button to drop the Oddball to the ground whenever required.

When should you drop the Oddball to the ground?

You can drop the Oddball to the ground when you want to gain some speed and shoot at an enemy. That’s because when you are holding the skull, you will have a slower speed and worse, you cannot use any weapons. All you can do is protect it. You can use the skull as a melee weapon to attack other players but if you are at a distance from the enemy, it can get tricky. So, at such moments, you can drop the ball, take out the enemy and then pick the skull up.

But there’s also a disadvantage. If you are the lone carrier of the ball while being surrounded by opponents and you end up dropping it, chances are that you might lose it. Your skills and the skillset of your enemies will determine whether they are fast enough to grab that skull from right under your nose or not. Plus, the overall strategy of your team matters a lot in this case. So, work together, keep moving and keep control of the skull in Oddball.

What you can do is eliminate yourself if you are surrounded by enemies while being alone with the Oddball. Once you kill yourself, you won’t let the enemy have the ball because it will go back to the starting point. When this happens, either your team can take it back or the other team does. But this was the best thing you could do in that particular situation without giving up the ball.

That’s everything about how to throw the Oddball in Halo Infinite. If this article was helpful, don’t forget to check out more of our Halo Infinite guides on Gamer Tweak!
