Much like other Social Events, a Birthday Party is also a Goaled Event. Hence, there are goals for you to complete after which you can earn Medals. Earning medals while throwing a Birthday Party will reward you with a unique item in the Sims 4. That being said, here’s how you can prepare for a Birthday Party:

  • First up, head over to your Phone > Social tab > Plan a Social Event.
  • Further, select the Birthday Part to get started. It will cost you 100 Simoleons, so make sure you have enough funds for it.
  • Now, there are several things to do here which include the following things:
    • Select a Birthday Sim
    • Choose Guests to invite to the Birthday Party (Minimum 2 and Maximum 20 Guests are allowed).
    • Hire a Caterer Sim for preparing meals.
    • Hire a Mixologist Sim in case a guest would like a few drinks.
    • Hire a Sim for Entertainment purposes.
  • The most basic requirement while throwing a Birthday Party is having a Cake. For your reference, here’s a guide that features the steps to get a Cake in the Sims 4.

Make sure you at least earn a Bronze Medal which is earned by completing the Main Goal. In addition, completing extra tasks will get you Silver and Bronze Medals. Here are all the Tasks that you will be given while throwing a Birthday Party in the Sims 4:

  • Blow out the candles on the Birthday cake! (Main Goal)
  • Make a Group Meal 0/1
  • Have Sims Become Playful at the Same Time 0/3
  • Tell Jokes 0/2
  • Have the Birthday Sim Chat While Happy 0/1
  • Compliment the Birthday Sim 0/4
  • Eat Cake 0/4
  • Eat Food 0/4
  • Have Sims Listen to Music at the Same Time 0/3
  • Play a Game with the Birthday Sim 0/1
  • Have Drinks 0/3
  • Play Musical Instruments for 1 Hour 0/1
  • Have Sims Playing Games at the Same Time 0/3
  • Have an Adult Make a Toast 0/1

Once you have earned a Silver Medal after hosting a Birthday Party in the Sims 4, you will be rewarded with a ‘Balloons and a Banner’ object. Luckily, you can place as many of these objects as you want.

That’s how you throw a Birthday Party in the Sims 4. While you are here, make sure to check out our other Sims 4 Guides right here on Gamer Tweak.
