This guide will tell you all the details about things to do first.
Things to do first in Hogwarts Legacy
There is so much to do in Hogwarts Legacy that it would get overwhelming if it was all done at once. There are things to explore, things to learn all around Hogwarts and outside it, things to unlock, etc. So with that many things to do, let’s take a look at what are the things you should be doing first.
Duel in the Crossed Wands Dueling Club
One of the most fun activities which also works as a tutorial is Dueling. You will be able to Duel for the first time in Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Sebastian Sallow. After this, Sebastian will invite you to dual in the Cross Wands Dueling Club. You can start this by meeting Lucan Brattleby at the base of the clock tower.
This will also teach you some of the basics of combat during early game and get you accustomed to it. It can also be really challenging on a higher difficulty. This also provides a training dummy where you can learn various spell combos to be the most efficient in duels.
Explore Hogsmeade
Known as the only town where magic is openly practiced, Hogsmeade is a bustling and happening place. There are lots of shops and other structures to visit. Some of the shops and their shopkeepers will be introduced during the main quest itself. But, you should still explore more of this town as it has a lot more to offer.
There are many fun little shops and houses you can go into and interact with items or even eat things. One such interesting shop is Zonko’s Joke Shop where you can find a lot of interesting stuff, so make sure to visit it.
Use Revelio and collect Field Guide pages.
Revelio is one of the first spells you learn during the prologue of Hogwarts Legacy. If there is an essential thing to do no matter where you are, it’s to use Revelio. You can miss a lot of hidden chests and other valuable things if you don’t use Revelio often.
One of the main uses for Revelio is to reveal and collect Field Guide pages. If you ever find anything interesting like a statue, a unique painting, or unique structures like fountains and such, use Revelio and you might reveal a Field Guide page.
Do Merlin Trials
After a few early hours into the game, you will be introduced to Merlin Trails. These are little pizzles or challenges that can often be easy to understand and solve and don’t require too much time. Make sure to do these trials whenever you stumble on them in your journeys.
These Merlin Trials are essential things to do in Hogwarts Legacy, as they will increase your gear capacity. If you don’t want to keep destroying or selling your items, you need to keep doing Merlin Trials as much as you can.
Unlock Flying Broomstick
You might have seen a few students flying about on Flying Broomsticks around Hogwarts. Using a Flying Broomstick is one the most fun things to do in Hogwarts Legacy. But, You will need to progress a bit in order to unlock them. They are unlocked after attending the Flying Class where you are taught how to fly one.
While you don’t have Flying Broomsticks unlocked yet, make sure you are saving up Gold so you can immediately buy one once it’s unlocked. It can be bought at Spintwitches Sporting Needs for 600 Gold once you unlock it. Having a Flying Broomstick makes exploring a lot easier. So, make sure you try and unlock that first before going off exploring places that are far away.
