As the developers of Naughty Dog announced, we can look forward to “exciting things” on The Last of Us 2 this weekend. Many fans are now speculating about a possible implementation or a technical upgrade for the PlayStation 5. Fans are also speculating The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer component.
As the developers of Naughty Dog promised us via Twitter, we can catch up on exciting news about The Last of Us 2 as part of this year’s Outbreak Day. What the studio refers to in detail was not revealed. Unsurprisingly, speculations were not long in coming.
On the one hand, fans speculate that The Last of Us 2 could be released on the PlayStation 5. In addition to a classic port to the next-generation PlayStation, a technical upgrade would of course also be conceivable, which is made available to owners of the PS4 version at no additional cost. The possible multiplayer for the second part is also currently haunting the rumor mill again.
A few months before the official release of the second part of the title, the people in charge of Naughty Dog admitted that the planned multiplayer will not be available for the launch of the title.
As the studio said, the multiplayer component was simply too ambitious to be ready for the release of The Last of Us 2. However, the concept should be taken up again at a later point in time.
The game is now available on PS4. We may find out more details at the weekend.
