The Chamber of Insight is one of the puzzles you’ll encounter in Baldur’s Gate 3 as you seek to meet the ancient dragon Ansur slumbering beneath the city. This puzzle is part of Wyll’s quest in Wyrmway, becoming available if you save the Grand Duke from the Iron Throne earlier in the game. This guide will show you how to solve the Chamber of Insight step-by-step in BG3.
The Chamber of Insight Puzzle Solution in BG3
The Chamber of Insight is the second puzzle chamber from the left in the ruins under Baldur’s Gate. When you enter the chamber, you’ll see a statue of Balduran and three ghostly figures – Suelto, Amaps, and Stedd. Your goal is to determine which of these three ghosts is considered an “enemy of the city” and attack them to complete the puzzle.
Interacting with the Balduran statue will make the ghosts appear. However, the game doesn’t give you any clues about their backgrounds. Luckily, a library nearby contains flying books with information on each ghost.
- To get the books under control so you can read them, throw a random object from your inventory or make an Athletics check to grab one out of the air.
- High-strength companions like Karlach and Lae’Zel will likely have high enough Athletics skills to snatch a book. Metallic Boots also can be equipped to provide a +1 Athletics bonus.
- Once you secure a Tome, read through it to uncover details about Suelto, Amaps, and Stedd. The key detail is that Suelto was exiled from Baldur’s Gate and turned cruel. This makes him an “enemy of the city.”
- Head back to the Balduran statue and attack Suelto to strike down the correct ghost, solving the puzzle.
While it may be tempting to look up the answer, exploring the library and reading the books will provide insight into the history of these ghosts and Baldur’s Gate.
