MK1 Test Your Might Explained

Check out this guide to know everything about the Test Your Might mini-game in Mortal Kombat 1 and how to beat it to progress further.

The Test Your Might mini-game has been a part of many installments before Mortal Kombat 1 since the inception of the fighting series. And it makes its way back yet again in the new era of Fire God Liu Kang. Throughout the years each game had its iteration of the classic. Test Your Might sort off acts as an interval between the fights and story progression. With that being said you will have to play and beat it successfully to progress further in different modes in Mortal Kombat 1. For players new to the franchise altogether or for those who still aren’t used to the mechanic, it can be quite tricky. So here is everything explained about Test Your Might and how you can play and beat it in the reboot.

How to Beat Test Your Might in Mortal Kombat 1how to play and beat test your might in mortal kombat 1

Players will be playing the Test Your Might mini-game in both, story as well as invasion mode in Mortal Kombat 1. You will have to constantly keep smashing the dedicated buttons on your controller or on the keyboard. Fill the bar on the left side of the screen to a certain point. On controllers, it would be the action buttons while on the keyboard it would be designated keys you have as preference. Regardless you will be notified of them at the bottom of the bar in the game.

You will only have about 10 seconds to reach the mark on the bar. Once you reach the mark, there will be an option to strike, and timing it correctly will be the key. The mark itself would be set at different points depending on how much further you are in the campaign. It will become increasingly harder on the level of difficulty you play. If you beat the Test Your Might mini-game, you will be able to advance in both modes in Mortal Kombat 1. However, both modes deal with the mini-game in different ways.

Failure to beat Test Your Might in invasion mode is interesting. You will see your character getting brutally attacked by vexed and disappointed Mortal Kombat 1 characters. Failing in story mode, however, will affect your ability to progress further. And the characters will face brutal consequences in the cutscenes. You can retry in both of the modes in the game.
