What do the Tera Shards do in Pokemon Scarlet Violet
Tera Shards are the items or resources that can change your Pokemon’s Tera type to a different type of Tera. But for that, you need 50 Tera shards of that type. Before you use these Tera Shards, you need to complete the Normal Gym challenge in Medali.
Follow the below steps to use the Tera Shards in Pokemon SV:
- Once you have beaten Gym leader Larry in the challenge, head to the famed Treasure Eatery.
- Over there, interact and speak with the chef.
- The first time you visit him, he will reward you with 50 Normal Tera Shards. You can use it to change your Tera-type Pokemon to Normal.
- Select the Pokemon when the cook asks about the Pokemon you want to use it.
- Finally, select the Yes option to change your Tera Pokemon to normal.
- In addition to that, you can also change the Tera type to a different Tera type. But as mentioned earlier, you need 50 Tera shards of that type for that.

Where to Get Tera Shards in PSV
- You can get the Tera shards for defeating a Tera Pokemon during Battles. As you defeat these Pokemon, their Tera jewel shatters into pieces dropping the Tera Shards.
- Then, you can find and collect these shards around the place. The Tera shards you get depends on the Tera Pokemon you have defeated.
- You can also get the Teras shards by completing different Tera Raids. You can find these raids on the Map.
- Alternatively, you can also find the Tera Shards across the open world.
