The Tentacle Surge mutation is currently the one that has the highest multiplier in Fisch, so you can get good value when you sell a fish that has this mutation. However, there is a very specific requirement to obtain it and that is to have a certain fishing rod.
How to get the Tentacle Surge Mutation in Fisch
To catch fish with the Tentacle Surge mutation, you require the Kraken rod which provides a 5% chance to get it. While it’s a rare chance, if you boost your luck through various methods, you might just get multiple mutated fish, even of the Mythical rarity.
Unlike most other mutations, there will be no difference in the way the fish looks as of now. But it will give you a whopping 10x multiplier, granting maximum profits if you’re trying to earn more cash. Yes, it used to be 1.5x but now it has been massively buffed.
In order to get the Kraken Rod, you need to first get to the Kraken Pool which can be accessed by completing 4 puzzles with a clock wheel in each. So, solve the Sunken Depths, Ethereal Abyss, Poseidon Temple, and the Zeus Trial first and open the vault doors. You should be able to see a clock with different symbols. The goal here is to set the clock to the right symbol and when you do so, it will open up the pathway that provides access to another vault.
Solve the final puzzle and you should be able to get to the Kraken Pool where the Kraken Rod is purchasable for 1,333,333C$. This rod also has 3 passives:
Kraken’s Power: For every 50 catches, the player catches a guaranteed fish from the player’s bestiary that has the Legendary, Mythical or Exotic rarity. If the current fishing spot lacks an Exotic in its bestiary and the Kraken Rod selects an Exotic, you’ll receive a randomly chosen Exotic, including Megalodons.
Double Haul: There is a 10% chance that the Rod will give you 2x of what you caught.
Kraken’s Curse: It gives a 5% chance to apply the Tentacle Surge mutation to anything caught.
With all of this combined, you will also catch a lot of other rare fish, making the Kraken Rod one of the best fishing rods in the game right now.
