Animal Crossing New Horizons is celebrating yet another festival, not with an event but with a seasonal item. It’s the Japanese Tanabata holiday (also known as Starcrossed Day) that takes place on July 7. Players did expect there to be a full-fledged event in New Horizons but that seems to not be the case. But you can still enjoy the festival in your own little way. In this guide, we will show you exactly how to get the Bamboo Grass in ACNH.
Tanabata Festival Bamboo Grass – Animal Crossing: New Horizons
To get the special Tanabata festival seasonal item, all you have to do is go to Nook Shopping > Seasonal tab. You can find the Bamboo Grass there for 3,080 Bells. This special item is available only for a limited-time. You can only buy it till July 31st so if you want to place this on your island, hurry and get it soon.
You can either use the Nook Shopping app on your NookPhone for this or you can visit the Nook Stop Terminal at Resident Services to get this item.
The tradition with the Tanabata goes something like this. You write your wishes on Tanzaku paper and tie it to a bamboo tree and wish on the stars. As you might already know, ACNH players are no strangers to wishing on shooting stars. Additionally in New Horizons, when you interact with this Bamboo Grass, you can actually read a Tanzaku from the bamboo wishing tree too.
Note that it is still unclear if people around the world will be able to get it or it is only for the Japanese players. But from previous experiences, it is most likely to be available for everyone. Plus, if you want to make the most of this holiday, you can also wear a Yukata!
