Whether it is for getting meat or just exploring the vast map, sooner or later you will feel the need to catch an Alpaca in Soulmask. While this animal is quite difficult to come by, our guide will help you find this fluffy companion in the easiest possible way.
But before we get to that, it is important to note that Alpacas need to be tamed after catching. And there is still some work post-taming the animal, just so you can ride it. So if you are willing to put some effort, here’s how you can find, tame, and mount an Alpaca in Soulmask.
Where to Find Alpaca in Soulmask (Locations)
Below, you will find the best places to find an Alpaca in Soulmask:
Claw Tribe Camp
In the Claw Tribe Camp (Barbarian Barrack), you will find several animals including an Alpaca confined into cages. You can break them free of their cages and take them to your base to grow and most importantly tame them. But before that happens, you are going to have to deal with all the enemy threats in the camp.
While you are planning to take away the Alpaca, either an enemy will show up or the mother Alpaca herself. You can then drop the baby Alpaca and deal with all the threats.
Highlands
Aside from the Barbarian Barracks, you can find Alpaca in the Highlands area of the map. This is found at the bottom of the map, just near the Mysterious Portal. In this grassy field, you can find several Alpacas and baby Alpacas whom you can catch. Since these animals are wild, you can not simply pick them up. You will first have to trap them using a medium or small trap.
Once you have placed a trap near the Alpaca, put corn in it to lure them. They will definitely be attracted to it and walk right into your trap. After that, you can go near and “Capture” them for taming.
How to Tame and Mount Alpaca in Soulmask
Much like human babies, your captured Alpacas will also need some care and affection in their growth stages. So you need to put them in a protected fence area, feed them with corn or pumpkin, and give them access to drinking water. By doing this, you will be boosting the baby Alpaca’s growth massively.
Once the Alpaca is fully grown, you can mount it by crafting a Saddle. You can unlock its crafting recipe from the Technology Tree under the Leather Gear tab. It will require you to spend 10 Leather Rope, 10 Normal Leather, and 10 Coarse Cotton to craft a Saddle for Alpaca in Soulmask.
Whenever you are ready, put the Saddle on the Alpaca and get on him for a ride. That’s how you find, tame, and mount an Alpaca.
