Minecraft: How To Tame An Allay

Published Date :

Minecraft is an amazing Sandbox game that brings the 2D Pixels aesthetic to a 3D game. Many players have made amazing stuff like Monumental Builds, RPG Realms, Redstone Machines, etc. In the 1.19 Update, the Allay was introduced. They are the game’s pixie of sorts. Allays are little helpers that will help the player in transferring Items across certain distances. In this guide, I will show you how to Tame an Allay in Minecraft.

Before we get into the taming part, here is what you should know.

  • Allays are found in Cages & Prison Cells in Pillager Outposts & Woodland Mansions.
  • You cannot feed them food.

You read it correctly. The Allay in Minecraft is not a Mob that you can feed to Tame. You can get & keep them in your Base. All you have to do is to give them an Item. Once you give them the Item, they will follow you. From there, you can use a Lead to get them to your base.

Allays are attracted to Note blocks. So if you get them close to a Note block & play it, they will go and station themselves near it. Without a Note block, the Allay will hover near you. Now that you got an Allay, you can make it to collect a certain item for you as long as the Allay is holding that item. If you want an in-depth guide on Allays then check out our guide on What Is Allay & How To Find And Use Them in Minecraft.

  • To recap, Allays are not Tamed by food.
  • To tame them, you will need to give them any Item.
  • Once you give them the item, they will follow you within a 64-block radius.
  • They will sit near a Noteblock if you play it.
  • The Allay will bring all of the Items it has on it and drop them on you.
