Find out more about this Curious Substance.

To get Ectoplasm you will have to kill some ghosts. It has a 9.5% chance of being dropped after you kill a ghost. Ghosts themselves are pretty hard to come by so you will have to remain patient if you want to complete this task. That being said Ghosts are more frequent in the mines. If you want to farm ectoplasm it makes sense to visit the higher levels of the mine which have these spooky characters.

Ectoplasm is a thick, slimy goop that basically acts as the residue left behind after you kill a ghost. It isn’t used for anything as such. The only purpose it serves is that it is requested by the Wizard. You get 7 days to complete this request. Upon completion, the Wizard will reward you with 2500g and a Mini-Obelisk recipe. You also cannot sell the ectoplasm to anyone else in the game.

This is everything you need to know about how to get Ectoplasm in Stardew Valley. While you are here do not miss out on How to use a Thunder Egg or How to get Fire Quartz.
