Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is arguably one of the much-awaited action-adventure video game developed by Insomniac Games. It will be the second game in the Marvel’s Spider-Man series after Marvel’s Spider-Man, which released in 2018. The game has been in the news ever since it was announced at the PlayStation 5 reveal event.
Ahead of its global release, there are thousands of people who are wondering if the new Spider-Man Miles Morales and remaster of the original Marvel’s Spiderman will have cross-gen and cross-save functions.
Does Spider-Man Miles Morales have Cross-Save and Cross-Gen?
Fortunately, Spider-Man Miles Morales supports both cross-save and cross-gen for PlayStation and PlayStation 4. You can play Spider-Man Miles Morales together on PS4 and PS5 and if you wish to shift from one console to another and then there is an option for that.
Notably, you can move from PS4 to PS5 but you would not be allowed to go back to PS4 from PS5. Since Spider-Man Miles Morales is the PS5 exclusive, it does not have any moving saves around outside the Sony ecosystem.
Unlike Miles Morales, the remastered version of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man does not have this option.
A user named Joseph on Twitter asked if she could transfer her save and pick up where she left off on Spiderman Remastered with Spiderman PS4 file or will she have to start from the beginning, responding to her, Insomniac Games wrote, “Saves won’t transfer from the original game to the Remaster.”
For the unversed, the remaster is a completely different game from Spider-Man Miles Morales. Notably, there is a special version of the new game that includes the remaster. That’s Ultimate Special Edition of Miles Morales and it includes a remastered Spider-Man for PS4 and that will not support either cross-gen or cross-save functionality.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is scheduled to release on both PS4 and PS5 on November 12, 2020. To know more about the game, you can check out Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales wiki guide.
