During the Summer Game Fest livestream dedicated to DualSense, Geoff Keighley had the opportunity to speak with Eric Lempel, the head of marketing for PlayStation, who said that prior to the start of the console pre-orders, the information will arrive with some notice from part of Sony.
Also during this interview, the color of PlayStation 5 was slightly discussed about: as we know, the console will be released on the market at the end of the year in black and white, with the first color very prevalent, while we are not aware if there will also be in the future a black version or special editions to celebrate the release of important titles.
When asked if PS5 and DualSense will come out in other colors, Lempel said that “We’ll talk about that at some point,” but not now. “Right now, it’s a hard enough job to get the unit we’ve shown out, but we’ll talk about it at some point,” he said.
Shortly after the PS5 event in June, Matt MacLaurin, VP of UX at Sony, said that since the next-gen console hardware can be customized in different ways, “While this is the flagship/reference, you can count on even more beautiful (and hopefully radical) special editions.”
In recent news, Geoff Keighley has held a hands-on livestream in these minutes on DualSense, the PS5 wireless controller. Although not too many details were revealed even from the interview with Eric Lempel, the head of marketing for PlayStation, you can still check some videos and a small summary about it in this article.
PS5 will hit the market later this year.
