After dealing with the Lovecraft-inspired adventure and horror from The Sinking City, Frogwares is set to return to the franchise they’ve specialized in over the years: Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. The best part is that the new game will release not only based on the hit British detective on the current consoles and PC, but also it will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X Series.
The Ukrainian indie studio Frogwares presented the revelation trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, a title that will address the origin of the European detective and whose story will narrate the events related to the mourning for the death of his mother and his arrival on an island in the Mediterranean.
Frogwares producer and community manager Sergey Oganesyan also stated the following about the game: “What we want to do with Chapter One is that we want to explore this other side of the character, and how he became the great detective that we know. He has this raw talent [for discovering the truth] that’s sort of untamed. He’s more arrogant, and much more volatile in this game compared to [other] versions.”
According to the description of the game, we will find an open world and different options to deal with enemies, either through brute force or with the strategy that will allow us to stay one step ahead of the facts by knowing and analyzing the vulnerabilities of our opponents.
Also, the story of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will introduce us to Jon, not John Watson, who accompanies Sherlock Holmes in these difficult moments and it will remain in the game experience to know who he is and what role he has in the life of the detective.
Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will release in 2021 and the title will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X.
