The Sacrifice Totem is one of the most valuable items in 99 Nights in the Forest, especially for players looking to unlock powerful rewards in the Volcanic Biome. Here’s everything you need to know about finding it, using it, and making the most out of its unique ability.
What is the Sacrifice Totem in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The Sacrifice Totem is a mummy-like statue based on a Cultist, covered in cloth and pierced with three nails. It was added in the Volcanic Biome Update Part 2, and it acts as a shortcut to charging the Volcano faster than with regular sacrifices.
Sacrifice Totem Location:
- It only spawns inside Hot Chests in the Volcanic Biome.
- Make sure to search the chest locations carefully because Totems are uncommon compared to other loot.
- Keep any Totems you collect, even if you don’t yet have access to the Volcano.
How to Use the Sacrifice Totem
- Head to the Volcano in the Volcanic Biome.
- Throw the Totem into the Volcano just like you would with a corpse.
- Each Totem adds 2 charges to the Volcano’s gauge (instead of the normal 1 from corpses).
- The Volcano requires 8 charges total to activate. For example: 4 Totems = full charge, or 2 Totems + 4 corpses also works similarly.
Once the Volcano gauge reaches 8, an item spawns at the stone table nearby in this order:
- Cultist Gems (x3)
- Forest Gem Fragment
- Either the Infernal Sword or Infernal Crossbow
Save Totems for when you really need a faster charge cycle, especially for farming Cultist Gems. You can also use a mix of Totems and corpses to balance efficiency if Totems are scarce. Remember to always keep one or two Totems on hand before major Volcanic runs, so you don’t get stuck farming corpses.
With the Sacrifice Totem in 99 Nights in the Forest, you can cut farming time in half and unlock powerful Infernal gear much faster.
