When you start Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, most of the map is covered in Fog and you must take certain steps to reveal it. Veteran Zelda players know that to unlock the map, they must scale the Skyview Towers. Although these towers are present in this iteration, the process of activating them is lightly different. To help you out, we will tell you how to clear the fog on the map in Zelda ToTK.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: How to Reveal Map Fog
In Zelda Tears of The Kingdom, you must clear the fog to unlock the map. To do so, you must continue the main story till you reach the “Crisis at Hyrule Castle” mission. In this mission, you’ll unlock the Skyview Towers, which overlook all regions of the Hyrule kingdom. To defog the map, you must activate these Skyview towers.
Here are the steps you must follow to reveal the map fog in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom:
- Reach the Lookout Landing and look for Purah.
- This will trigger the “Crisis at Hyrule Castle” quest.
- Now, head out to the highlighted location on the minimap and you’ll reach the Hyrule Castle.
- Once you reach the entrance of the castle, use the Ascend ability to reach the top.
- Talk to Captain Hoz at the top and then, return to Purah to activate the Skyview Tower.
- Now, Purah will hand you a Paraglider to help you scan the area.
- Once the dialogues are over, examine the blue platform in the Skyview tower and you’ll be launched into the air.
- Now, Link will scan the map with the Purah pad to defog it.
Once you glide down, talk to Purah and then a region of the map will be unlocked. Note that, every region on the map has its own Skyview tower. So to defog that particular region, you must activate the Skyview Tower of that area. You can also use the Skyview Towers as a fast travel portal so make sure you activate all of them
