Minecraft is an amazing Sandbox game with Survival aspects. Along with making Monumental Builds or Cutesie Towns, players can make Survival Worlds and try and beat the Enemies & Bosses. One such Boss in the game is the Ender Dragon. The Ender Dragon is the end game boss of Minecraft and defeating her means that the player has completed the game. You can only beat her once to get the Ender Egg. But what if you want to have a rematch? What if you want to get more resources from the End? In this guide, I will show you how to Respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft.

How to Respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft 1.19 & above

The Ender Dragon is the final Boss in Minecraft & as such, you would think that you can fight her only once. But the game allows you to respawn this Magnificient Beast. You will want to do this for a couple of reasons mentioned later in the article. To respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft, here is what you will have to do:

  • As shown in the image above, place the necessary blocks on the Portal to respawn the Ender Dragon.
  • Now you will need 4 End Crystals placed in each direction of the Portal, on the middle of each side.
  • To make an End Crystal, you will need 7 Glass Blocks, an Eye of Ender, & a Ghast Tear.
  • In the Crafting Table, place the glass in the shape of the Leggings Armor piece.
  • After that, place the Eye of Ender in the middle & then the Ghast Tear below it.
  • Once you have placed the 4th End Crystal, an Animation will begin & it will spawn the Ender Dragon.
  • This will reset the Obsidian Obelisks along with their End Crystals & the Ender Dragon will respawn.

Benefits of Respawning the Ender Dragon

Now you will be able to rematch the Ender Dragon. But the question arises of why we want to do this. Well, the solution is pretty simple. The Ender Dragon & the End dimension is a hub of resources. Here is what you can get by fighting, beating, & respawning the Ender Dragon:

  • Beating the Ender Dragon gives EXP (EXP Farm).
  • Respawning the Dragon restores the Obsidian Obelisks (Obsidian Farm).
  • Fighting the Dragon can get you Dragons Breath (Lingering Potions Farm).
  • Open up End City Gateways, max of 20 only.
  • With the End City Gateways, you will be able to explore the END & get to the END Ships to procure the Elytra.
