During your time in Divinity: Original Sin 2, you won’t be able to use your Sourcery at first. Your powers are being restricted by that Source Collar stuck on you and your Party Member’s neck. So if you want to freely use your powers, you must take out that Collar. But unfortunately, you can’t remove the collar unless you have reached a specific part of the game.
In this guide, we will tell you how exactly you can remove the Source Collar in Divinity Original Sin 2. Before we begin, know that your and party members’ Source Collars are removed in two separate scenarios. But don’t worry, we will cover both the steps here in this guide.
How to Remove Your Source Collar in Divinity Original Sin 2
To get rid of your Source Collar, you need to complete a quest known as the Collar. In this quest, you are supposed to go to the Fort Joy and complete a combat to become the Arena’s Champion. Only then you will be able to get your main Source Collar removed in Divinity Original Sin 2. Below, we will walk you through the detailed steps on it:
- First up, head over to the Camp Kitchen area in Fort Joy.
- Talk to an NPC known as Noosey to get access to the hatch that leads to Arena of the One.
- Use the stairs to climb down the hatch and reach the Arena of the One.
- There, you must speak to The Thorny One to start the combat.
- Once you have won the combat, return back to the Thorny One. She will tell you to see the Tinkerer.
- After getting out, walk past the Camp Kitchen and reach Nebora’s Tent on the coordinates (x:224; y:182).
- Tell Nebora (Tinkerer) that you are the Arena Champion and she will remove your own Source Collar in Divinity Original Sin 2.
Now that you have gotten rid of the Collar, scroll down below to learn how to remove other teammates’ Collars.
How to Remove All Party Member’s Collars in Divinity 2
You need to complete a quest known as ‘Most Dangerous When Cornered’ to remove all Source Collars. This quest comes later in the game, so your teammates have to wait for a while. During this quest, you need to save an NPC known as Gareth, only then your teammates will be able to get rid of the Source Collars. Here’s how you can do so:
- Speak to the NPCs known as Duggan and Leya in the Seeker’s Hideout.
- Get the objective of saving Gareth. After saving Gareth, Leya will remove the Source Collars as a return to your favor.
- To find Gareth, head to the Ruined Castle in the northern part of the Hollow Marshes.
- At the entrance of the Ruins you will find a Shrieker, so kindly avoid it.
- Instead, walk around and climb the vines on the southern side to reach the top level of the Ruins.
- After that, go down the ladder and defeat the Magisters. You will find that Gareth is also finding some Magisters there.
- Here, you need to ensure that Gareth is safe so that you can bring him back to Leya.
- So, defeat all the Magisters and take Gareth to Leya so that she can remove all the Collars in Divinity 2.
