Does Fallout 5 have a release date yet? Bethesda Studio’s hit series Fallout hasn’t seen a new game since the launch of Fallout 76 in 2018. Fans of the post-apocalyptic RPG are looking forward to jumping back into a new single-player campaign after the disaster of Fallout 76. Though news about a new Fallout game is sparse, let’s go through everything we know about Fallout 5 currently.
When Will Fallout 5 Be Released?
As of this moment, there is no confirmed release date for Fallout 5. All we know about the game right now is that Bethesda has started laying down the basics of what a Fallout 5 can be. The studio already seems to have its plates full with the upcoming release of Starfield this year. Todd Howard, the studio director at Bethesda in an interview confirmed that Fallout 5 will be the next game after they finish working on The Elder Scrolls 6.
Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in development, with rumors that it will release in 2026. If those are true then fans of Fallout will have to wait a long long while before they hear anything about the game. In the meantime, all we can do is speculate about the nature of the game. One thing we can expect is a new game engine for the series. Where Fallout 76 still used the Creation Engine, Starfield 2 will feature the new Creation Engine 2. So we can assume the new game will use this new technology. The backlash to the full multiplayer experience of 76 will hopefully convince Bethesda to focus more on the single-player aspects of Fallout 5. The game can also be set in a new location like Chicago, Alaska, or New Orleans. Maybe the game takes place outside the United States for the first time in the series.
