Luckily, Rebreather is not an endgame item as you can find it in the early period. To be precise, you can find it inside a cave near the seashore where your in-game character crashes in the intro cutscene. It is highly recommended that you should enter the cave only when you have a torch. There is no light inside the cave and having a torch will help you a ton.

Since there are lots of turns on your way to find the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest, here are the directions:

  • Enter the Cave by passing through the narrow walls.
  • Further, take a right turn and keep moving forward.

  • There will be light flashing your way. The path ahead will be a low roof so you will have to crawl and move forward.
  • Now, take all the left turns whenever you see two paths.
  • At a certain point, you will see a few life-saving jackets and swim rings lying in the water.

  • Moving ahead on that path, you will see a small pool area inside the cave.
  • From where you are standing, you should see the Rebreather on the next side of the pool (next to a light).
  • Get to that side by walking on the path on the right side.
