The Ram is a hostile creature added to 99 Nights in the Forest. It replaced The Owl in the game’s list of enemies. It appears only at night (in specific biomes), and creates danger in the form of stalking, charging, and environmental destruction. Here’s what you need to know about The Ram in order to survive an encounter with it.

What does the Ram do in 99 Nights in the Forest?
First, let’s take a look at its behaviors so you know how to deal with this creature.
Awakening Phase
At night, there’s a chance of a short cutscene announcing “The Ram has woken up.” Once this happens, the Ram becomes able to spawn. This means that the Deer usually won’t appear, but it will if there’s a Cultist Attack.
Chasing
When The Ram notices you, it will begin to chase you, and sometimes, it will stop and charge its meter. Once the meter is full, it prepares to launch a dangerous charge attack, which can even chop down trees for you.
Charge Attack
The Ram rushes in a straight line, but it doesn’t turn easily. If you get caught in the line of the charge, you will get dealt higher damage, so make sure you have bandages ready. The direction of the charge is unpredictable, so don’t rely on where it was facing before the charge.
Damage and Stuns
Its normal walking damage is moderate, but the charge attack hits much harder. Note that The Ram is invulnerable to all weapons, so it cannot be killed. You can temporarily stun it with a flashlight, but only when it is walking normally. During a charge, the flashlight has no effect, so dodging is your only option.
Spawn Conditions and Locations
Knowing where to expect The Ram helps with planning.
- When: Only at night.
- Where (Biomes):
- The Forest biome at night
- The Volcanic biome at night
- It doesn’t seem to spawn in any specific fixed locations within those biomes; just generally in those areas during night time.
How to Deal with The Ram in 99 Nights
- Because you can’t kill it, evading is usually the way to survive. Fighting isn’t an option, except in terms of stuns or distractions. Moving left or right is more effective than running straight or backing up.
- The increase in the charge meter is your early warning. If you see it, stop and stand still, be ready to dodge. The creature is easy to deal with as of now and it appears that it might get a buff in the next update to make the encounter more challenging.
