This question is upon every newcomer who wants to have a go at this game. Should I Play Zelda Breath of the Wild Before Tears of the Kingdom?

Can I Play Zelda TOTK without playing BOTW

No, you don’t need to play Breath of the Wild before playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. An interview with the developers confirmed that the sequel would be friendly for first-time players as well. So if you have wanted to jump into the world of Zelda, TOTK is exactly the game that you would want to start from. Whether you decide to catch up with the earlier games is your choice but you won’t have to play any installment to connect with the current one.

Zelda TOTK producer, Eiji Aonuma, confirmed in the interview that the team has created balanced new gameplay mechanics along with an intuitive experience that should please newcomers and returning players equally. Quests and missions would be such that they would be accessible and can be completed by all players even without prior knowledge.

“The new gameplay ideas we packed into this title are all things that can be solved intuitively, so I think first-time players can rest assured that this game is easy to get into,” were the words used by Eiji Aonuma in the interview. The game director Fujibayashi also added, “We put in some effort to make sure that it feels comfortable for both first-time players and those with experience of the previous game.”
