One of the most immersing mechanics is the inability to pause the game against Chronos in Hades 2. From the lore’s perspective, it makes total sense because he is the titan of time. So when you pause it is only natural for the boss to control the time and not let you catch a breather. These are some things that games do that make them memorable like Psycho Mantis making you change the controller port in Metal Gear Solid. But before I digress any further, let us quickly check the different ways you can pause here.
How to Pause Against Chronos in Hades 2
You need the Power to Pause and Reflect incantation for it. To be able to unlock this you need two things. First and foremost, you should try pausing against him at least once during your fight when you reach him. As for second are the resources, for this incantation you need:
- Moly x3
- Zodiac Sand x3
You can find Moly randomly on Erebus during your runs all you have to do is go and pick one up when you spot it. For Zodiac Sand, you have to defeat Chronos thrice for it.
Now, the above solution may not be the one you are looking for if you haven’t or don’t know how to beat him yet. Don’t worry though, that is where the workarounds come in:
- Use Bug Report: Not the best thing to do but if you really need a timeout then you can press R3 or RS on your controller. This will pause the game and open a window that lets you report a bug. Thanks to u/imung_ on Reddit for sharing this trick, you can check their post here.
- Change Tabs: Another method that you could use would be to press Alt + Tab. This trick comes from Reddit user u/Lipefe2018 check out their comment here.
That is all for how you can pause the game against Chronos in Hades 2. If you need help defeating the titan lord you should check out how to get Witch’s Delight. This will let you take an animal familiar with you in the fight.
