In Grow a Garden, mutations add a visual change to your crops and also help you earn more Sheckles than normal. Among the most coveted is the Paradisal mutation, a rare variant that doesn’t just look good, but also provides a great multiplier. But what exactly is it, how do you get it, and is it really worth the effort? Let’s dig in.
What is the Paradisal Mutation in Grow a Garden?
The Paradisal mutation is an environmental mutation that comes into play when a single crop receives both the Verdant and Sundried mutations. Verdant is applied when you use the Scarlet Macaw pet or when there’s a Solar Flare weather triggered manually by the admins, usually before an update. Similarly, is applied when a Heatwave or Solar Flare event occurs.
Once both are applied, they fuse into Paradisal and it replaces them. Visually, it transforms your crop into a lime‑green beauty radiating sun‑ray particles. Functionally, this mutation provides a 100x selling multiplier, placing it among the game’s top‑tier mutation rewards. Sundried has x85 and Verdant has a x4 multiplier individually.
How to Obtain the Paradisal Mutation
1. Get Verdant
- Acquire the Scarlet Macaw pet by hatching it from a Paradise Egg (rare and costly).
- The Macaw attempts every ~11.5 minutes to apply Verdant, with about a 16% chance. The Solar Flare event also has a chance of applying it, but you never know when this weather will appear in-game, so it’s based on luck. Your best bet is to be in-game for at least 2 hours before the next update drops because the developers start activating admin weathers during this time.
2. Apply Sundried
Wait for the Heatwave or Solar Flare event which has high chances of appearing before an update through the Admin commands period. You can use a Tanning Mirror to apply the Sundried mutation
3. Wait for the Combo
Once Verdant (x4) and Sundried (x85) get applied on the same crop, they combine into Paradisal, replacing both
This yields an effective x100 multiplier which is a great bonus.
Is it Worth it?
It’s worth it if it naturally occurs on your crops and if you already have the required pet, but if you’re planning on grinding for it from scratch, it can be a time-consuming task. There are mutations better than Paradisal in Grow a Garden such as Disco (x125), Meteoric (x125), Voidtouched (x135), and Dawnbound (x150), so you can consider looking into them for additional boosts to your garden.
