Many Baldur’s Gate 3 players are looking to open the Gilded chest that you find in Owlbear Nest. While the chest may look harmless, trying to open it normally causes it to attack you with a spell. Depending on your character’s level this can take away a lot of your health or may even down you. But there is a simple and better way to open it without having to take any damage. So here is how you can unlock the Selune Gilded chest in BG3.
How to Open Selune Gilded Chest in Baldur’s Gate 3
To open it you have to get the Selunite Prayer Sheet. The sheet lies on the ground behind the giant stone statue that you see in front of the chest.
- Use the Jump action to get across the water body.
- Get behind the statue and on the ground you will find Selunite Prayer Sheet.
- Here, choose Pick Up to take the sheet with you.
- Jump back to the platform where the Gilded Chest is.
- While standing in front of the chest open your inventory.
- Click on the Selunite Prayer sheet and choose Read.
After reading the prayer the chest will unlock and you can open it to claim its items.
Can’t Unlock Gilded Chest in BG3?
If your character reads the prayer but it still doesn’t open the chest, then the best thing to do is hand the sheet to another member of the party. Make them stand in front of the chest and read the prayer and the chest should unlock now.
Also, if you have Shadowheart in your party, then she will warn you against taking the items from the chest. The best way to avoid it is by sending her back to the camp or either performing skill checks like Insight, Intimidation, or Persuasion.
With that, you should be able to easily open the Selune Gilded Chest in Baldur’s Gate 3. For more help on this game be sure to check out our BG3 section.
