Cities Skylines 2 lets you enable disasters when you start a new game. Just like the different weather conditions, these are some challenges that can occur randomly to harm your city. It may make things difficult but it also adds to the realism.
While there is no way for you to prevent these situations from happening. There are certainly some things you can prepare early on to control the damage that these disasters will leave behind. So here are the three natural disasters that can take place in your city.
All Natural Disasters in Cities Skylines 2
- Forest Fire
- Hail Storm
- Tornado
Forest Fire
During dry and hot weather your forests are in danger of catching fire. The problem isn’t that only forests will be affected by it. Any buildings near the forests are also at risk of being caught in the fire.
To prepare for it, make sure to set Firewatch Towers near your forests. Next, you should place your fire fighting department between the city and your forest. How this will help is, as soon as a fire breaks out the towers will alert the department and they can dispatch firetrucks or fire helicopters to prevent it from spreading.
Hail Storm
There isn’t much you can do to prepare for a hail storm. It can happen whenever the temperature becomes too cold. Hail storms will make the roads slippery and can cause traffic accidents. Another problem that they cause is that they will damage the buildings.
Tornado
While the above two weren’t as harmful to your citizens, Tornado makes up for it. It will affect anything in its path damaging and at times even destroying the buildings. If that wasn’t enough people can also die when caught up in a tornado.
The best thing to reduce the damage they cause is to set up Emergency Shelters. Make sure to place them in such a way your citizens can easily get to them.
