Mythril is one of the first ores in The Forge that truly feels “late-game.” You will feel a jump in difficulty, crafting value, and progression importance. Unlike early ores that appear almost everywhere, Mythril only becomes available once you are deep into the game’s mining and quest systems. Here’s how you can get and farm this Legendary ore.
How to Get Mythril in The Forge
To start farming Mythril, you need to unlock advanced cave access. This happens naturally as you complete major NPC questlines and unlock mining regions in the Forgotten Kingdom. These deeper layers have stronger enemies and significantly higher mining pressure. If your current routes still reward mostly silver, gold, and other basic materials, then Mythril will not spawn for you yet.
What you need to look for is Basalt Veins, which are found in the Ruined Cave in World 2. Mythril has a 1/813 drop chance, so make sure to use Luck boosts to improve your chances.
Visually, it is a purple stone, and when it’s forged, it gives the outcome a purple look as well. Mythril has a 3.5x multiplier, provides a trait of +15% max health, and has a price of 52.5 Gold. Note that this trait can stack with other health boosts.

Mining speed matters more than anything else in this case. The faster you clear clusters, the more spawn chances you generate per run. Equip a Pickaxe like the Mythril Pickaxe, which can be purchased from Miner Fred’s shop for 67,500 Gold. If you’re short of cash, here’s the best way to make money fast in The Forge.
A reliable Mythril farming loop looks like this: you enter a deep cave layer, fully clear one large section of rock, exit to force a reset, and immediately re-enter. This guarantees fresh ore spawns and eliminates wasted wandering time. Players who rely on random exploration always gather less Mythril per hour than players who reset with proper planning.
Remember that Mythril should almost never be sold in its raw form. Its true value comes from crafting. Plus, crafted Mythril equipment sells for dramatically higher profits than the ore itself, making it one of the most important investment materials.
