Where to Find Companions in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord?
When you go to Encyclopedia (press N to open it) and check the Heroes section, check for the Wanderers. This will show you the companions list in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord. You will be shown their traits, skills and their last seen location. But since they are always on the move, it can get slightly tough to track them down.
Usually, they will be in taverns or the tavern district of a particular location. Their names, mostly, have a format which goes something like ‘Name, the Title’. Take Sionna the Healer for example. Their title will also indicate their area of skill.
How To Recruit Companions?
Hiring companions in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is pretty simple. Just travel to a tavern in a town and find them. When you are in a tavern, hold Alt. This will reveal all special character names, making things easier for you.
Chat with a potential companion, know their story and then request them to join you. But before they actually join you, you must clear the debts that they are under. You will have to shell out lots of Denars to finally get them to be your companion.

Companion Roles
After completing the Rebuild your Clan quest, you can assign companions with a role. Depending on their skills and traits, you can assign them a role that best suits them. To give them a role, simply go to the Clans tab and choose the companion first. Then, click on Clan Role and pick one of these – Scout, Surgeon, Engineer, Quartermaster.
How To Increase Companion Limit?
You can increase the companion limit by upgrading the clan level. The first one has a cap of four companions but as you upgrade, you will get more slots. The maximum is eight companions as of now.
You can also unlock the Ruler perk which is under the Steward skill at level 250. This will give you a companion slot for those towns that you own.
Companions can be greatly helpful to complete side quests saving you a lot of time and effort. They can also generate passive income, become a Governer, improve relations with other settlements, lead a party etc. Meanwhile, you can focus on other important things in the game.
